If the shorter days and colder weather is starting to get to you, you might be considering leaving it all behind for a week or so before Christmas finally arrives. If you do, Tenerife is a great spot to think about visiting.

In fact it is one of the more popular destinations for many people looking to get away from the cold. Tenerife is a nice place to visit all year round, particularly as even during the winter the weather is very nice. It’s not as warm as you would expect it to be during the summer months but it is still good enough to allow you to relax on the beach and unwind.

Another feature of Tenerife in winter is that you also have the chance to see some snow. Can you imagine climbing a mountain that has snow on the top, and yet still being able to go for a swim in the sea just a short way away from it? You can do it in Tenerife, because Mount Teide does get snow during the winter. It certainly gives you something to look forward to in a winter holiday destination that has lots of diverse activities to try out.

This example might seem like an extreme one in terms of the weather. But in fact Tenerife is rather an unusual island in that different areas do offer different kinds of weather in this way. This means it is worth exploring the different areas of the island before you book your last minute winter break in Tenerife, so you can figure out which one is going to be best for your needs.

If it is sun you want and little else, you are better off venturing south of the island to get your wish. You can still explore other areas but you will get the best of the winter weather here, whereas you might get some different weather entirely if you stay north of the island.

As you can see though, Tenerife offers a nice variety of possibilities even during the cooler months of the year. Why go anywhere else for a winter break?
